Bill Atkinson

Bill Atkinson has been an independent, performance consultant since 2000 and has gathered a wealth of practical experience in the fields of leadership, personal and management development during his varied career path.

 
Commissioned into the Army, following training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, he gained 16 years of leadership experience in many different environments and cultures including Hong kong, the Falklands, Northern Ireland and with the UN in Cyprus.
 
Between 1988 and 2000 he held management and consulting positions in the defence manufacturing industry and financial services sector.
 
Bill has worked on organisational development projects for large, small, public, private and voluntary sector organisations. These projects have ranged from a play scheme’s management review to the design and implementation of a performance management process for an organisation of 11,000 people. He has also designed a number of management development programmes for companies including standard life, intelligent finance, the monetary authority of Singapore and a major corporation in Qatar.
 
Over the last 5 years, Bill has worked with a large number of clients. These include BAE Systems, Scottish Life, Scottish Power, Alpha Flight Services and various public sector organisations including the Inland Revenue, MoD national Library of Scotland and NHS. He is also a contractor to Standard Life Assurance Company, Intelligent Finance and Diaego. Bill also works overseas with regular clients in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia and in the Middle East.
 
Bill is an avid traveller and plans his trips well in advance to ensure work/life balance is maintained. He has toured in Australia, Canada, USA, India, Malaysia and South America.
