HELLO WORLD! - effective online communication
Friday 27 August
9.30am – 12.30 (including lunch)
Trainers: Gary Ennis and David Hoey
The second in our series of Online engagement workshops, "Hello World!" takes a look at the variety of free and low-cost methods of promoting your organisation on the internet, ensuring your organisation communicates effectively with tenants, service users and the wider community.
Following on from our Social Networking master class, we'll look in detail at Blogs, Forums, E-mail Newsletters, and Online PR, showing you the tools to make a positive difference to your business.
You'll learn how to:
- Construct and distribute a press release online
- Setup a successful Blog in minutes
- Participate effectively in online discussion forums
- Create an email campaign that delivers!
- Monitor your online impact
And more:
In addition to the practical benefits of social networking, the session will also cover some of the legal issues arising in this growing area that is used by employers and employees alike. The session will therefore consider:
- What legal issues arise with the use of such sites for employees and employers?
- To what extent can (or should) employers control employee use of such sites?
- How can your Disciplinary and Grievance Policy help?
- What about an E-mail and Internet Policy?
- Are there any practical risks that need to be managed in dealing with these issues?
"Hello World!" will cover what's important in building a long term, stable and trusting relationship with your clients; communicating with them, rather than at them, by engaging in open transparent discussion and honesty rather than simply advertising your sales message.
Cost: Members £85, Non-members £140
