Michael Cowie has worked in the Housing and Anti Social Behaviour field for over 16 years, he is known nationally as an experienced Housing and Anti Social Behaviour practitioner and trainer, he also has an excellent reputation for making training both enjoyable and interesting.
He also worked at one of the first government funded Safer Estates programmes in the country in the Pennywell area of Sunderland in 1997. After a successful 2 years, he was appointed as the first housing professional to work with a specialist task force team with Northumbria Police. For the last 6 years he worked as an Operations Manager for one of the largest housing organisations in the North east of England with over 38,000 properties.
Michael is currently Managing Director of his own Training and Consultancy business and has delivered training for a large number of clients. These include London community safety forum at Scotland Yard, Chartered Institute Of Housing, Northern Housing Consortium, Northumbria Police, Doncaster Council, Berwick CDRP, Scottish Consortium of Housing Organisations in Stirling, Welsh Assembly Government, TPAS, Sunderland Magistrates and Victim Support.
Michael was invited on the practitioner’s panel with Housemark to help produced the Respect Standard for Housing Management Performance Tool Kit for Landlords.
