| SHARE CELEBRATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY - 06 January 2011Almost 200 staff and committee members from the SHARE membership, along with other invited guests, have attended a celebration at St Andrews in the Square, Glasgow to mark SHARE’s 25th Anniversary.
Rod Hunter, SHARE’s Director read the original notes from the first meeting held in 1984 to discuss the formation of SHARE. The aims and objectives set then have been met and in many cases exceeded.
Most of those mentioned are still active in the housing association sector in particular Dr Mary Taylor the recently appointed Chief Executive of the SFHA and Janice McEwan Chair of Govanhill HA.
Alasdair McKee Chief Executive of Glen Oaks HA and former Chair of SHARE’s Executive Committee commented on SHARE’s success and its special relationship with Committee members.
Tony Graham SHARE’s first Director added to the mood of celebration by recalling the travails of a study tour to Liverpool and how SHARE’s Annual Conference came to be held at Peebles Hydro where it has remained successfully ever since.
