SHARE has joined forces with NSDesign to offer housing associations a pathway into social networking.
Training and Development Manager at SHARE, Olwyn Gaffney, believes “Using social media, organisations have access to a virtually untapped communication resource; however they need to be aware of the pitfalls that this brings and understand how to harness this powerful medium to the advantage of the social housing network for the benefit of tenants and staff.”
Gary Ennis, Managing Director of NSDesign, said:
”Social media and networking is not something which is restricted to big companies or any particular sector. What we are able to show people is how to make it work for them and how they can adapt and work within the boundaries of what is and is not appropriate for their organisation.
“We received some great feedback from the people who attended the course at SHARE and we are looking forward to doing more of this kind of work in the future.”
Here is some of the feedback received:
“Gary was very enthusiastic and great to listen to, but more importantly, the course told me a lot about Social Networking and helped me see how it could benefit our organisation. The examples and case studies shown helped me understand the size and impact social networking is having and what we could do to tap into this”.
“I found both the practical and legal sides of the course very helpful. Having never used any social networking sites prior to the course I found it very informative and interesting”.
“The course was very informative and useful; I would like to see more courses like this to keep people up to date with legislation etc”
Gary said:
“Social media and networking is something that all different sectors and organisations can take part in. There really are no limitations.”
