FACILITATION
Facilitation refers to the process of helping groups of people to work together to achieve their common goals. The skilled facilitator assists the group in understanding their goals and in planning to realize them without taking a position in the dialogue or expressing their opinion. The focus of the facilitator is to help the group reach a consensus about any disagreements they may have.
"The facilitator's job is to support everyone to do their best thinking. To do this, the facilitator encourages full participation, promotes mutual understanding and cultivates shared responsibility. By supporting everyone to do their best thinking, a facilitator enables group members to search for inclusive solutions and build sustainable agreements" - Kaner
