SHARE’s Summer Sessions for Aspiring Managers is aimed at those housing professionals who are new to management or would like to progress up the career ladder towards a management role.The series of five half-day courses is designed to give delegates a solid foundation in key aspects of the managerial position.

Managers have to deal with all sorts of difficult conversation: performance issues; motivating team members; dealing with sensitive personal issues and workplace conflicts.  This course is designed to help managers and new managers to handle these difficult conversations, enabling them to listen effectively, ask the right questions; and tailor their approach depending on the subject matter. 

There will be a particular focus on the effective use of praise and criticism: looking at the benefits and pitfalls of delivering praise and criticism incorrectly and the effects this can have on employee performance, engagement and morale.  It will demonstrate the most effective way to use both praise and constructive criticism to get the best from your employee’s and help them to fulfil their potential.
