Become a Mental Health First Aider

Every organisation will have a first aider for physical ailments, but it is now being widely recognised that mental health is just as important as physical health.

Here at SHARE we are supporting the “Where’s Your Head At?” campaign for the training and induction of a Mental Health First Aider in every workplace.

In support of Mental Health Awareness Week, SHARE are pleased to be able to offer the Scotland’s Mental Health First Aid course.  On completion of this course, delegates will be NHS Scotland certificated Mental Health First Aiders, trained to recognise the signs that someone’s mental health is suffering and know how to approach the matter sensitively and assist them in seeking the appropriate professional help.

The course will cover topics such as: Attitudes to mental health, Suicide; Self-Harm, Depression, Anxiety, Psychosis, Alcohol, Drugs, Listening Skills, and Recovery. Delegates will become more confident dealing with these sensitive issues, gain a better understanding of the complexities of mental health issues, and be able to help their colleagues at an early stage to get the help they require.

You can find out more and book your place HERE or if you would like to discuss your requirements please get in touch with Julie-Ann, Learning & Development Office, SHARE.
